A VR ride experience in a KONE Monospace lift at AceTech 2016

For their new Monospace series of lifts, the interior designs of which were based on the 5 elements of Vaastu, KONE wanted to create a Virtual Reality (VR) experience for visitors coming to their stall at the trade fair, AceTech, Bangalore. Having worked with us on such challenging projects as 3D animated stereoscopic videos, Aura, the event management company that handled KONE’s account, was certain that we would create a ‘wow’ VR experience.

The designs of KONE’s new series was based on the five elements of Vasstu Fire, Space, Water, Earth and Air. We created the 360º VR environment for each of these elements. Using Oculus Rift, the VR display headset, the visitors entered the VR lift and were immediately transported to environs such as a massive Niagara-like waterfall, complete with raindrops falling on the lens, fishes swimming in the water below. All the 5 elements had surprise elements that made the visitor experiencing the VR, go ‘wow’. Words can’t describe the VR, and neither can the images.

After giving the viewer the VR experience of the 5 elements, they were then brought back to the lift where they could experience the designs inspired by them.

The KONE VR was a big draw at the exhibition.
